The Bundesministerium für Umwelt (Federal Ministry of Environment) needed a database for the administration and coordination of its press- and public-relations. tarent GmbH employed its already existing software tarent-contact and adjusted it to the customer's special requirements. Additionally, at the Ministry's request, we initially researched addresses and incorporated them in the database.

The new solution was planned as a replacement for an older database. Because tarent-contact was already in employment by numerous administrative and industrial customers, the Ministry's choice was in favour of this proven tool. The program had to be integrated into the existing system environment and made independent of the operating system in use. According to the customer's requests tarent-contact had to be complemented by a search and select function with which the user is able to choose a series of addresses at the same time. The chosen addresses can then be added to an existing work process.

Beyond the usual customization and installation of our solution, tarent GmbH acted as a service provider in this project. We researched and categorized more than 10.000 data sets, which were especially catered to the Ministry's need. In addition, we synchronized the data with the already existing address-sets.

In this highly specialized project tarent GmbH was able to show that it does not offer off-the-shelf solutions. Through careful individual adjustments of an existing tool acc-ording to the customer's needs, they were able to work productively from the first day.
