Swarm Intelligence

Research on ant colonies, bee swarms, schools of fish, and flocks of birds are the basis of swarm theory. As a superordinate "superorganism," the swarm acts in a targeted and quasi-intelligent manner. Disassociated from the acts and intentions of the individual, patterns, the capability to act, and intelligence arise. From the reorganization of what exists, something new arises on a superordinate level.
